To tell the story in a few lines, to build emotion in a couple of colors...
My inspiration lives in the sounds of Mozart, the smell of sandalwood and the taste of the sea. My art is obsessed with the challenge of minimalism. To tell the story in a few lines, to build emotion in a couple of colors. My stories that are told in a feminine way. Soft and warm, carrying the comfort of a burning fireplace. Tenderness, spiced with a touch of youthful mischief...
My first feature screenplay was written in 2020 and dedicated to life and art of Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Another two feature projects ("Captain Blood" - an adaptation of Rafael Sabatini's novel, and "Maestro" - Giuseppe Verdi biopic) were written in the next two years while I was studying in High Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors in Moscow.
In 2022, with mentorship from New York Film Academy, during a 45 week screenwriting workshop, the "Maestro" project was rewritten and that same year became The Academy Nicholl Fellowship quarterfinalist.
In 2023 a debut novel of Natalia Vengerova was published in Russia, followed by the second book in 2024.
In 2024 "Maestro" became a semifinalist of the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards.
"Wrong answer" - a psychological drama is the fourth feature screenplay released in February 2025.
Please feel free to contact me on any project!
I am always open to creative ideas and cooperation.
a little science and a little heart...
He was born a genius who was destined to achieve greatness. However, if one's ambitions serve one well enough, undoubtedly they will force one to serve them instead. May a genius be born to serve? And what if the music itself were to fight his vanity?

The fight against Austrian oppression, betrayals, tragedies, passion. A sea of magical music, strung on the thread of historical events in 19th century Italy. The lace that frames this thread is a love story. The composer and his muse: Giuseppe Verdi and Giuseppina Strepponi. Destiny did not allow them to be together, but their hearts were looking for an opportunity to be close.
On his way from poverty to worldwide fame, Giuseppe Verdi gets into a dangerous game and loses everyone who truly cares about him. But having reached greatness, he stops seeing the meaning of life. The son of a poor provincial roadside tavern owner, Giuseppe has heard the music in every sound around. At the age of five, when he’d go with his father to do some shopping at a successful merchant's store, he'd run up to a spinet in the corner of the room and spontaneously play melodies. This could not go unnoticed.
Having found himself under the patronage of that very merchant, by the age of twenty-five Verdi was a successful, wealthy composer in his town, the father of two children and the husband of his patron's daughter. This was not enough for him.
Taking his family away from their comfortable, quiet life, he moves to Milan to conquer the capital of music. Two years of hardship are crowned with success. Verdi's opera is to be staged in La Scala.
And that's where the vortex of fate's jokes and tragedies begin. Forbidden love that can destroy all hopes. Loss of children. Death of loved ones. Unfulfillable obligations. Creativity mired in routine. All of that followed by devastating success and popularity, adding pressure from all sides. Regardless, he walks to his goals no matter the price.
So here he is, Maestro Verdi, the icon of opera. Lost, devastated, rich and famous. He hears no music anymore. He coins the chords like a roofer coins tiles, having no desire to create. And only the forgiveness of true love can bring him back to life.
His adventures at sea has passed into a byword...
He escapes from the slavery he was brought into by a mistaken treason accusation to become a legendary buccaneer and an object of worship of the wild Brethren of the Coast, and yet to finish his pirate career not by being hanged up from the yardarm, but with the appointment to the post of the Governor of Jamaica.

A soldier and a sailor in the past, Peter Blood is content to pursue a doctor's trade in Bridgewater during the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685. He is called out to one of the wounded rebels' leaders when he is caught, convicted of treason and sold into slavery on the plantations of Barbados. He meets Arabella there, the niece of Colonel Bishop, his owner, and falls for her. The love that can bring nothing but disaster seems to be mutual, but he takes a chance when a Spanish force attacks the town, and escapes with his friends-rebels from the island hijacking Spanish frigate. Outlaws in their own land and a homeless outcast in any other, the friends are going to Tortuga to join Brethren of the Coast.
From one victory to another, going his adventurous way with a loyal and talented team of ex rebels-slaves by his side, Peter Blood becomes the admiral of four fine ships fleet with over a thousand men. His fame produces something of a sensation in Europe; his powerful enemies in the New World are obsessed with the idea of hanging him. He is almost an object of worship on Tortuga, where half of the island gossips about his engagement with the Governor's daughter, not entirely groundless though. Arabella meanwhile spends a lot of time with a young handsome English Lord, so when Peter and Arabella's paths cross again, jealousy, that troubler of reason, had been over-busy with his wits as it had with hers. With the unfortunate addition of political events and human intrigues they lose each other again.
After the Glorious Revolution, Blood is pardoned. As a reward for saving Jamaica from a French assault, he is appointed its Governor replacing Colonel Bishop, who abandoned his post without due cause, to hunt for Blood. Now the ex-slave is to deal with the ex-owner's fate, and Arabella comes to Blood asking him to spare her uncle and do all he can for her sake. They had, of course, a great deal to say, so much, indeed, that Governor Blood forgot the duties of his office. He had reached home at last. His odyssey came to an end.
When good and evil are woven into a tight thread...
A silly mischief leads to a major tragedy. The life of one family is destroyed, the fate of another is invisibly tied to the one who is in thirst of compensation for the damage.
Though he is in no hurry to present the bill.

RELEASED
IN FEBRUARY 2025
BASED ON THE NOVEL BY
NATALIA VENGEROVA

He was the only one with knowledge of who was to blame for the incident that led to the tragedy that befell his family. Having no proof, he kept silent and watched the evildoer getting away with it. Year after year, facing the demoralising aftermath of that incident, he tracks the evildoer’s successful life path.
He is patient enough, because he has no doubt in his chosen path. He is patient enough, because he has a carefully thought-out plan. He is patient enough, because he needs the perfect moment. As twenty years pass, such a moment finally comes.
Stranded in the desert after a near-fatal plane crash in 1935, aviator and illustrator Antoine de Saint-Exupery reflects on his bond with his brother in their youth, revealing the inspiration of his novel “Le Petit Prince.”

It is sad to forget a friend...

Two men, a pint of coffee, half a pint of white wine, a few grapes and one orange. The blazing day sun and the freezing night wind in the kingdom of sands, where almost every hour brings a new challenge. No water, no hope... No intention to give up. Antoine de Saint Exupery and his flight engineer overcome the impossible from every point of view to find salvation at last, when the Arab caravan stumble across them.
Sneaking out to the castle roof at night and searching for a treasure under the old attic beams. Rabbit races and a tamed fox. Self-made ornithopters and gliders. Amberieu airfield and baptism of the air. Poems, frolics and the joy of children's privilege to live in the imaginary world. The second storyline runs through Antoine's memories of his youth, most of them are about his younger brother. Too naive and vulnerable for his age, Francois worships Antoine whose extreme energy and genius create a whole fairytale universe, the universe that revolves around the Little Prince - Francois. The boys invent stories and games making fun of the grown-ups' views, using people around them for prototypes (of the king, of the businessman, of the geographer etc.), revealing the innocent wisdom of young hearts. Francois dies of rheumatic heart disease at the age of 13. The last person he calls for is Antoine, and their talk almost perfectly matches the last dialog of the Little Prince and the pilot from the novel. Francois sincerely believes that he is going to leave his body as if it were an old shell and fly to the planet that Antoine made up for him in his tales.
This outstanding true story of comradeship, courage and miraculous salvation is told with the rich language of the autobiographical book and runs in parallel with the great novel's narrative revealed through a story of love between two brothers.
